A foundation for RECOVERY

I know what it’s like to want to stop and not be able to.

Before I became a meditation teacher, I struggled with addiction myself.

From the outside, my life looked pretty good. I had friends, relationships and a successful business. But underneath it I had a destructive relationship with drugs and alcohol.

I wanted to stop. But wanting to stop and actually being able to stop are two very different things.

Meditation for Addiction

I haven’t used alcohol or drugs since.

Meditation reached a part of the problem that nothing else had managed to touch. It worked at the level of desire rather than just vigilance. At first I still wanted to drink and take drugs, but I was finally able to resist the temptation. As the months went by and I continued to meditate, the desire to use fell away altogether.

Today I teach Vedic Meditation at Bondi Meditation Centre, and I want to make the technique that changed my life available to other people struggling with addiction.

Then, 20 years ago, I learnt Vedic Meditation

Our normal courses already use tiered pricing to make Vedic Meditation accessible to people in different financial circumstances.

But addiction can leave people in situations where even our lowest course fee isn’t possible.

So we offer a limited number of Meditation & Recovery Scholarships for people experiencing genuine financial hardship as a result of addiction.

You might be newly sober and rebuilding your life, unemployed, in rehabilitation, experiencing homelessness, or simply not in a position to pay for a meditation course right now.

You’ll learn exactly the same Vedic Meditation technique we teach to everyone at Bondi Meditation Centre. Where needed, we can substantially subsidise your course or offer you a place completely free of charge.

You don’t need to prove anything to us. Just tell us a little about your situation.

Meditation & Recovery Scholarships

You don’t need to identify as an addict. You don’t need to have been to rehab or be part of a particular recovery program.

You might simply be recognising that your relationship with alcohol, drugs, gambling or another compulsive behaviour is taking more from your life than you want it to.

If that sounds like you, book a free discovery call with me and tell me a little about what’s going on.

There’s no obligation and no judgement about where you’re currently at. We’ll simply have a chat and work out whether learning Vedic Meditation feels like the right next step.

You don’t need to have everything sorted out.

If you’re currently experiencing addiction and need medical or specialist support, please seek appropriate professional help.

Meditation can support recovery, but isn’t a substitute for addiction treatment or medical care.
